My name is Sharonda Nicole Thompson, I am a 34 year old single parent with four kids . Growing up as a child , and through my teenage years, I was very sickly. Since ,the doctors never knew what my diagnosis were, there were always tests. They continued to tell me everything was normal, but we all knew that wasn’t right. My family and I knew something was wrong, but we just didn’t know what it was.

Well in 2001, I became pregnant with my first child and had a few complications throughout the pregnancy. The morning of March 19,2002, I was prepared to give birth,  I had a seizure during the delivery.  I was diagnosed with having fibrosis seizures, (which are silent seizures).  After giving birth I was in ICU for monitoring.

Well, I became pregnant again at the end of 2002, with my second child. There were not many complications, but I was still having problems, but the doctor nor I  still didn’t know what was actually going on. I kept going to doctors, but still hearing that everything was normal.

My third pregnancy went by fast, but I was in and out of the emergency room, due to falling out from seizures. I had to follow the doctors orders and take medications as instructed.

Throughout the years I was still having complications, and the doctors still didn't know what was causing me to be ill.

In 2007, I became pregnant with my last child.  I had even more complications after giving birth. I had to receive blood transfusions because I had lost so much blood. I had to change doctors several times. The doctors would not read my charts history from the previous doctors.

In 2011, I finally got a doctor from Mobile, AL, that cared and went the extra mile.  On December 5, 2011,  my whole life changed.  After being sick for years, and not knowing what was wrong, I was diagnosed with lupus.

I cried a lot,  because I didn’t know what to do or expect. Unfortunately, I had to tell my kids and family. As a single mother that had four beautiful babies, that I had to live for, I had to pick up the pieces and keep it moving. Although, they are young, they have done their best to try to keep me happy.

After several doctor visits, I was also diagnosed with  neuropathy and fibromyalgia.  I try to take it day by day and live a healthy and happy life for my babies, who needs their mother.
